Hon. Jane Maiki Kamto
Hon. Jane Maiki Kamto hails from Buni Village in Rabai Sub-County, Kilifi County. She was raised in Majengo, and attended Makande Primary School and later joined CGHU Arya Girls High School in Nairobi for her Secondary education. She later attended Kenyatta University where she pursued a Bachelors’ degree in Education and became a teacher.
Due to her diligence, discipline and high level of professionalism she headed various Departments in various schools and later rose to become Principal of St. Augustine’s Preparatory School. She attained a lot as head-teacher of that school and saw the schools’ performance rise to unprecedented heights.
Hon. Jane Kamto is in the mission of streamlining operations within the Department of Lands, Energy, Housing Physical Planning and Urban Development to ensure a smooth flow and faster running of service delivery to the people of Kilifi County.

The Department’s vision is to be a leading, prosperous and secure County for high quality life but Kilifi County has been grappling with critical land issues of land tenure, inadequate access to Energy and Housing and unplanned towns and areas.

The Department’s Housing and Urban Development Unit is also partnering with the Kenya Informal Settlement Improvement Project (KISIP) in improving six settlements in Kilifi County among many other plans for the people of our great County of Kilifi.

PDP’s Project Approvals
All PDP’s of upcoming projects and approvals in all the Departments
Titling for all public land
Titling for all public Institutions land. So far we have approved approximately 30 PDP’s for public institutions including that of Mariakani Secondary School and the National Museums sites in Malindi.
Dispute Resolutions
Engagements on alternative dispute resolutions, alternative justice systems programs, and negotiations on behalf of the community on land acquisition programs for settlement of squatters on privately owned premises/lands.

Municipal Status
Conferment To Municipal Status Of Mtwapa, Mariakani And Watamu Towns
The AD HOC Committee and Technical committee presenting their report to H.E Governor Gideon Mung’aro
The County Government of Kilifi through the Urban Development Unit has initiated the process of the conferment to municipal status of Mariakani, Mtwapa and Watamu towns. The conferment of the towns to municipal status is aimed at delivering services further and bringing them closer to the mwananchi.
The ADHOC committee that is to look at the conditions for conferment vis a vis the town was sworn in by H.E Governor, Gideon Mung’aro and have worked tirelessly and delivered a well detailed report to the Governor who will submit it to the County Assembly for approval.
