In light of the land conflict and boundary disputes occurring in the Marereni Trading Center area of Adu Ward, a consensus was reached between the residents and land surveyors from the Department of Lands, Energy, Housing, Physical Planning, and Urban Development, led by Surveyor Margaret Munga. It was determined that the most effective approach to resolving the disputes between the County Government and the residents would be to conduct a comprehensive picking and re-planning of the area, incorporating community input and addressing their concerns.
Subsequently, the Consultant tasked with undertaking this work was introduced to the residents, and preparations are underway for the commencement of phase 1 of the picking and re-planning of the Marereni trading center area. The residents were encouraged to identify suitable locations for key public utilities such as schools, waste collection sites, a cemetery, playgrounds, and a market to better serve the community.
