The Kilifi County Energy Directorate, operating under the Department of Lands, Energy, Housing, Physical Planning, and Urban Development, recently completed a maintenance program for streetlights in Watamu ward of Kilifi North Sub-County.
The technical officers diligently worked to maintain the optimal performance of streetlighting systems and high mast floodlights, ensuring consistent illumination for commercial areas and emergency situations such as power outages.
Tasks performed by the team included replacing faulty photocells, repairing LED lamps, fixing defective meter boxes, and installing new lamps in areas with empty lamp cells.
The maintenance program covered various areas, including Turtle Bay Road to Club Kalahari Road, Rich land to Watamu Makaburini Road, Sea Front Road, Silver Sand School Road, and others. The teams possess a comprehensive list of all wards, and commencement of streetlight maintenance will resume next week. Every ward will receive attention without exception.
