In a significant step towards resolving a decade-long boundary dispute, Kilifi County Surveyors today oversaw the identification and survey of the intercounty boundary at Mwatsama Village in Kisurutini Ward, Rabai Sub-County. This important task was undertaken in company with surveyors from Mombasa County.
The boundary at Mwatsama Village has been a contentious issue for over ten years, leading to tension and uncertainty among local communities. To address this, a joint survey will be carried out by both Kilifi and Mombasa counties, representing a crucial milestone in achieving a peaceful resolution. The collaboration between the two counties is expected to bring clarity and stability to the region, benefiting residents and fostering development. The survey findings will be closely monitored, and additional measures will be implemented to ensure a fair and lasting resolution.
The administration of H.E Governor Gideon Mung’aro has expressed a strong dedication to ensuring that intercounty boundaries are clearly defined. This initiative is part of a broader endeavor to rectify historical injustices and promote harmony among neighboring counties.
