Hon. Jane Maiki Kamto

Hon. Jane Maiki Kamto hails from Buni Village in Rabai Sub-County, Kilifi County. She was raised in Majengo, and attended Makande Primary School and later joined CGHU Arya Girls High School in Nairobi for her Secondary education. She later attended Kenyatta University where she pursued a Bachelors’ degree in Education and became a teacher.

Due to her diligence, discipline and high level of professionalism she headed various Departments in various schools and later rose to become Principal of St. Augustine’s Preparatory School. She attained a lot as head-teacher of that school and saw the schools’ performance rise to unprecedented heights.

Hon. Jane Kamto is in the mission of streamlining operations within the Department of Lands, Energy, Housing Physical Planning and Urban Development to ensure a smooth flow and faster running of service delivery to the people of Kilifi County.

As the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) of this Department, Hon. Jane Kamto hopes to achieve quite a number of things including eradicating the long overdue issue of squatters in Kilifi County by making sure that the genuine land owners acquire their land and are facilitated with the relevant ownership documents. Hon. Jane Kamto also wishes to enhance the development of Kilifi Urban Infrastructure by ensuring that all constructions and buildings have complied with the proper physical plan according to the Physical and Land Use Act 2019 so as to prevent future calamities befalling our people.

Hon. Jane Kamto has also promised to diligently work towards delivering as per the mandate of H.E Governor, Gideon Mung’aro’s manifesto of ensuring a spatial planning that creates connected , beautiful and resilient neighborhoods that facilitate a unique lifestyle of commerce, leisure and wellness as well as ensuring that she has dealt with the long overdue cases of historical land injustices and the issue of squatters that has continued to be experienced by the citizens of our great Kilifi County.
