The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Lands, Energy, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development, Hon. Jane Kamto, alongside members of the County Project Coordination Team (CPCT), conducted a regular site inspection today of the ongoing infrastructural works of KISIP 2 within Kilifi Municipality.
During the site inspection, Hon. Jane Kamto, along with the SEC and GRC chairpersons, expressed their satisfaction with the progress of road construction in the four urban informal settlements of Kibaoni, Kalolo, Baya Magonzi, and Mtaani in Sokoni Ward, Kilifi North Sub-County.
The road construction project also addresses drainage issues in these settlements. The contractor is ensuring that the drainage systems are properly installed to alleviate the drainage problems that have been a significant challenge for the residents.
Furthermore, this project has created employment opportunities on a rotational basis for the youth in these urban informal settlements, thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of vulnerable populations in these informal settlements.
