Enhancing Housing Solutions and Urban Development in Kilifi County

The Housing Division within the Kilifi County Department of Lands is dedicated to improving housing conditions, promoting sustainable urban development, and addressing the growing housing needs of the county. Our focus is on facilitating affordable housing projects, upgrading existing housing infrastructure, and ensuring effective urban planning.

Key Responsibilities of the Housing Division

1. Affordable Housing Development

  • We oversee and implement affordable housing projects to ensure that all residents have access to safe, decent, and affordable housing. This includes collaborating with developers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to increase the availability of affordable housing options.
  • We work on various housing schemes and programs aimed at providing low-cost housing solutions for low and middle-income families.
    2. Urban Planning and Development
  • We are responsible for comprehensive urban planning to guide the growth and development of towns and cities within Kilifi County. This includes creating and updating master plans that address residential, commercial, and recreational needs.
  • Our division ensures that urban development is in line with sustainable practices, zoning regulations, and land use policies to promote orderly growth and enhance the quality of urban environments.
    3. Housing Infrastructure Improvement
  • We manage projects aimed at improving existing housing infrastructure, including renovation, upgrading, and maintenance of residential buildings. Our goal is to enhance living conditions and ensure that housing meets current safety and quality standards.
